Shane Byrne
14  year  Mo Bro
Hosting an event

£0

Target: £1,250
raised £7,006 since 2010
My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

14yrs a Mo Bro and over £5000 raised... Wow, just wow! Last year we ran Tashbash 2 (Tabletop gaming tournament) that raised £1000! So thisnyear it only makes sense to run Tashbash 3!!! Last year I also tried to go 30 days without any cake, biscuits, or sugary treats of any kind. It was harf, and I suffered with sugar withdrawal which wasn't nice. This year I'm cranking it a step - No cake, biscuits, sweet treats... AND NO FIZZY POP!!!! This is gonna be a big challenge as I had a can of coke every lunchtime as a caffeine & sugar boost. Wish me luck!!!!!

I've worked in my local hospital for 18Yrs, and a large chunk of this time has been in Urology looking after men with prostate and testicular cancer. Covid hit everyone hard, and I have friends who's mental health has suffered as a result. Last year the gaming community I'm part of was hit very hard after a well known member left us. This rocked everyone, and some close friends really struggled with their mental health as a result. We dedicated an award to him - The 'Kilted Kiwi' (his nickname) and it was awarded to the most sporting player. Sometimes its not the huge things that make a difference, this award has immortalised our friend and helped us focus our mental health for the better. We all want to be as happy as him. We all want to be... The Kilted Kiwi!

How I'm
getting involved
Men In Nursing Together - MINT
Team captain Shane Byrne
£0 Team funds raised
I've decided to give up all sweet treats (not drinks) for 30 days - Cake, biscuits, chocolate, sweets... Those who know me will realise that this is a huge thing for me to do. Wish me luck!

Previous year's activities

I worked out 00:01:00

An hr running round soft play with a 4 yr old is one he'll of a workout!

123 Week(s) Ago
I worked out 00:10:00

Still have DOMS from 2 days ago so sticking with a gentle workout on the arm.

123 Week(s) Ago

Mo & Move. Damn this didn't half cause me to get cramp in hips!!!

123 Week(s) Ago
I worked out 00:23:50

Missed yesterday's Move, although I did spend 1½hrs running round a kids soft play if that counts...? Because of this I decided to punish myself and did a BITCH of a HIIT with only 1 min rest between rounds, not 2 min. My legs hurt and I'm not looking forwards to having DOMS tomorrow.

123 Week(s) Ago
I worked out 00:15:00

Sticking with short shoulder workouts to help with movement.

123 Week(s) Ago
I worked out 00:07:40

Shoulder has been giving me jip so thought this little workout might help. Did 7 rounds with 15 seconds rest. Not sure my shoulder clicking through the whole thing is a good or bad thing.

124 Week(s) Ago
I worked out 00:05:00

124 Week(s) Ago

125 Week(s) Ago
I worked out 00:10:00

3 round HITT Post shift.

125 Week(s) Ago
