My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Prostate cancer

My good friend Colin Phillips and I started the Friday Night Fat Bastard Golf League in 2000. We have a current membership of about 32 and over the years lots of other people have come in and out of this fantastic group of friends. In the 22 years since it's beginning we have had 5 members who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The first was my dear friend Roger Bibby who was diagnosed in 2010 and passed away in early 2015. Our Team Bibby was started in 2010 by Roger and carried on by me since 2015. The next Fat Bastard was Syd Terry, diagnosed in 2015 and passed in 2019. Alec Dalziel and Bernhardus Peters were diagnosed with prostate cancer and both had very successful operations and are doing very well. Three years ago another FB John Philp was diagnosed early with this horrible disease and in October of 2020 had the operation which was very successful and is now doing great. I also have 5 other friends that are going through different stages of prostate cancer. Sadly just a couple of weeks ago one of them, a very dear friend from Bristol, Steve Foster succumbed to this disease. So this is a great reason for every man to get checked regularly. Over the past 13 years I have raised a little over $50,000 and Team Bibby has raised close to $200,000 towards prostate cancer research ... and we hope to raise a little more this year! We have to find a cure for this cancer and with Movember I'm doing my part!
